Citizen Power Demonstrated in Lansing
January 15, 2016
An iceberg that calved off Iceberg B-15 caused extensive pack ice buildup in McMurdo Sound, blocking shipping and preventing penguin access to open water[/caption]
Nasa reports that despite the reported gains in ice on the continent of Antarctica, global sea ice is still diminishing.
While local residents are unwilling to comment, the effect on their daily life is clear. For penguins, as for us all, climate change is life threatening.[/caption]
The CACC Kitchen[/caption]
Volunteers at this event initially buy a festival ticket from CACC for $65, then receive $50 back after working a six hour shift. In the end, you get three days of music, fun and camping for $15 !
Come join the fun!
Proceeds from the kitchen work to fund CACC throughout the year, and support our primary mission objective: to provide Citizens with environmental education, information and connections that lead to action.
